A positive attitude for these Chevrolet salesmen in 1926 had them traveling to St. Louis for a major convention. The slogan “Watch Houston Lead” was appropriate for a city on the fast trac for growth. Southern Pacific rail yards.

Built in 1910, the Harris County Courthouse was the background for a host of confiscated whiskey stills piled high in front of the watering troughs. Prohibition inhibited the locals from supplying expected conventioneers of the 1928 Democratic convention with Texas moonshine.
