A NIGHT IN THE LIFE
(of the Studio Musician)

We don’t always play jazz, but when we don’t, you can usually find us in a recording studio playing for various artists in just about any kind of music you can think of.

On December 11, we share the music of two artists we recently worked with.

Debut Recording!
Johnnie Faye

Johnnie Faye (aka Shannon Zamora) is a sultry jazz vocalist and charismatic performer in the tradition of Peggy Lee and Ella Fitzgerald. This Bayou City native followed a meandering path to jazz singing, first taking detours at the University of Texas at Austin where she majored in Spanish and Portuguese, then living and working abroad in Thailand and Brazil, before beginning her musical studies at Houston Community College.

Johnnie Faye is releasing her debut album of jazz standards, “The Fratelli’s Tapes Vol. 1”, in honor of the locale of her longest residency, Fratelli’s Ristorante in Houston, and for the fans and friends who supported her there. You will hear the sounds and style of the infamous Rat Pack of the 1950s and ‘60s, Brazilian bossa nova, torch songs and jazz of the big band era.  Each of the familiar tunes on the record are favorite audience requests from the Fratelli’s gang.

“The lads and I had a lot of fun working with Johnnie Faye
on her first recording, and we are quite sure it won’t be her last!
This will be our first performance together!”
