Alta Arts Live welcomed back SASS with special guest Paul English on Friday, May 12, 2023, for the first of two evenings of Simon Says SASS: The Songs of Paul Simon.
SASS consists of Becky Williams, Gigi Welling Nitzberg and Sharon Montgomery.
Becky came to Houston from Corpus Christi in the 1970’s, was signed to Multi Media Entertainment in Nashville, recording vocals for film, television, and audio projects. She appeared in Urban Cowboy,
Gigi hails from Tulsa. During her days at Belmont University in Nashville, she became one of the go-to session singers for the stars. Expansion Records signed her and produced her first album— which hit #5 in the UK on the adult contemporary soul charts!
Sharon moved to Houston from Nederland, TX and spent a season at the Alley Theater, From there, she went on to perform at the Newport Jazz Festival, the Café Carlyle, and Carnegie Hall.
