Michael S. Prentice

Co-Founder & Chair

Michael S. Prentice is a renowned sculptor and investor based in Houston whose innovative initiatives to enhance Houston’s Sharpstown neighborhood have received acclaim. His most recent effort, the creation of the Sharpstown Prize for Architecture, resonated with city of Houston officials as well as the art and architecture community. Prentice established his own sculpture atelier in Paris 30 years ago, prior to moving to Houston in 1998. During his residency in France, he received private and public commissions from clients including Takashimaya, Cartier, LaCoste, GlaxoWelcome, City of Paris and more.

Michelle Bouchard​

Co-Founder & President

C. Michelle Bouchard has created, managed and scaled non-profits and private/public partnerships since 1986, serving 13 years as President of HealthCorps, a national program founded by Dr. Oz. During her tenure, the organization raised over $70mm and impacted 2.5mm students across 17 states. She has received recognition from the TX Legislature; CA Senate, Clinton Global Initiative; NYC Chamber of Commerce; NYC Council; Log Cabin Republicans; the Off‐Off Broadway Review Board and more for her work.

Sheila Condon


As President of Clark Condon, Sheila oversees design and general operations for the firm. Her leadership directs and supports a team disciplined in how to respond to the growing value of environmental stewardship. n 2006, she was inducted as a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). She currently serves on The Cultural Landscape Foundation’s Stewardship Council and serves as Chair of Trees for Houston.

John Evatz

John A. Evatz has over 25 years of Luxury Goods and Hospitality background, having owned a Global Travel Management company, specializing in only the finest of Hotels, Villas, Yachts and premier air travel around the world. John has networked across the globe, providing an exclusive insider view of strategy, operations and overall company vision of the ultimate in luxury brands, such as Cartier, Graff Diamonds, Leading Hotels of the World, Belmond Hotel Group, Silversea Cruises and many other top names in the world of LUXE. John has a strong passion for the Arts, Literature, Film, Music, Fashion and Cuisine.

Christopher Gongolas

Member At Large

Christopher Gongolas – artist, drummer, tribal art collector, inventor/designer, finance geek/tech entrepreneur – has served on numerous art museum boards. Co-founded ARGUS Software in 1984, still the global standard for valuing & structuring > $10 trillion in commercial properties & loans annually. He’s gifted over $12 million to 120 universities worldwide, beginning as a finance guest lecturer at Wharton Business School in 1984. During a 20 year hyatis in Greece & Cyprus, he designed a line of globally patented, mass market, kinetic art & silly consumer products – and is also scaling up his unique monumental kinetic sculptures that inspired these product

Advisory Board

Travis is an Austin, Texas based film producer-director, and owner of a production company called Missio Films. He has worked with large national fortune 500 brands to better help them find their authentic voice through large scale re-brands. Most recently he rebranded Pearson Education’s advertising for their entire science program.  He has helped everything from luxury brands, national  healthcare conglomerates, oil and gas companies, and  technology companies.

Alexandra Lechin received her BFA in Sculpture at the University of Houston. She has exhibited her art at a wide range of galleries and has been awarded residencies with notable organizations such as Project Row Houses. Alexandra will bring her talent to help coordinate Art Exhibitions and assist with the artistic components of Alta Arts programs and events.

Alexander Squier is a Visual Artist who works across media including printmaking, drawing, photography, video and installation.  Squier also teaches printmaking at the University of Houston, and headed up the Printmaking Department at the Glassell School of Art (MFAH) from 2016 on.

Hailing from London, U.K, Beaux has been performing and songwriting from a very early age. Having two MTV documentaries made about her, she won the Grammy unsigned runner up award in 2013. She’s been in the studio with many musicians such as Akon and world class songwriters like Johnny Rockstar (The Sugababes, Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys, Robbie Williams, Bjork, Dido), Rudimental, Dee Adam (Mr Scruff, Ella Eyre, Alexandra Burke, Kaiser Chiefs), Ill Blu and many more. 


Joseph Permetti

Executive Director

Joseph Permetti brings over 40 years of work experience in the NGO and nonprofit world to The Alta Arts. He served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya and has worked in a variety of sectors including the promotion of international development and micro lending programs, and community enhancement projects throughout the US focusing on environmental, health and workforce development.

Leslie Ramos


 is a Houston native. Since 2012, she has served as the senor accountant for MPVP Holdings. Leslie has also been responsible for the planning and coordination of all events for Seeds of Sharpstown including all open house events and the unveilings of new construction for the company.
