To commemorate the tragedy of 9/11, On The Verge Theatre will present a staged reading of Anne Nelson’s provocative play, THE GUYS!

Two weeks after the 9/11 attacks, a newspaper editor is approached by a fire captain who has lost most of his men in the tragedy. He wants to tell his story in order to celebrate the lost lives. The result is a beautiful narrative related in an eloquent, riveting manner.

Nick and Joan spend an afternoon together recalling the fallen men by recounting their virtues and foibles and fashioning their stories into memorials of words. As they sojourn through the emotional landscape. they draw upon humor, the tango, and enduring bonds of friendship! Based on a true story, THE GUYS is a healing, cathartic experience which explores the humanity of loss and the redemptive qualities of hope.

THE GUYS will be performed by local veteran actors, Allison Marich and Kevin Cooney.
